COST ACCOUNTING MID LEVEL MISSISSAUGA FOOD RELATED ABOUT 3 YRS EXPERIENCE LOCAL PLEASE
Reporting to the Controller, the Cost Accountant will provide reporting link between Finance and Manufacturing in a timely fashion decision making purposes. The Cost Accountant position is accountable for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, product costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. The cost accountant must also construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management.
Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward, review and assessment of all inventory and inventory reserve accounts, sales and cost of sales accounts, and variance accounts.
Prepare monthly financial/management cost reports including material usage variances, manufacturing losses, inventory controls and other factory costs analysis as required.
Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system
Update standard costs in the bill of materials
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
